Meet the #Bookstagrammer #Blogger #Book Shark – Kim Bookwyrm

Happy Friday Bookwyrms! This month I’m kicking off a new segment on here called Meet the . . . Every Friday I’m highlighting a member of the book community, who identifies with one or all of the three with a bonus. I’ll ask those who participate five questions interview style and to name three fun facts about themselves. The fun facts will be posted on my IG story the same day as the post, while the interview will be posted here on my blog. My goal is to create a space for all members of the book community to share their love of and for books and why they’ve joined bookstagram or any other areas in the bookiverse. Ultimately, I’m hoping it will lead to greater connection as well as learning a thing or two about some of our followers and friends.

And so I kick this segment off by introducing all of you to me!

Name and @ handle: My name is Kim or Kimberly but I mostly go by my @handle, Kim Bookwyrm in the community.

I’m a #bookstagrammer #blogger and a #bookshark!

City: Atlanta but I’m originally from New York, The Bronx to be exact.

Favorite Genre (s): Contemporary Romance & YA Fantasy

Interview

What’s your favorite childhood book?

Now I want to be classy ad act like I was a mini classic children’s literature lover and say something like The Little Princess or The Secret Garden (both of which I read btw). But if I’m to be honest, I absolutely loved the Mary-Kate & Ashley Two of a Kind Diaries growing up.

Apart from books, what do you love to do? What are some of your hobbies?

Well as it should come to no surprise, I love to write. I also enjoy being in the kitchen, trying my hand at cooking from time to time. Traveling is a huge passion of mine. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to some amazing places over the course of my twenties and I yearn to leave the U.S. and explore some new places very soon. Lastly, I’ve been learning Korean over the past six years. Mostly self taught but I’d say I’m Elementary-Intermediate proficiency.

Who are some of your favorite OTPs (one true pairing)?

Rowan and Aelin, Feyre and Rhysand, Alec and Magnus, Helen and Aline, Khai and Esme (The Bride Test by Helen Hoang), Marlee and Gavin (Intercepted by Alexa Martin), Alexa and Drew (The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory) and Sydney and Ridge (Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover) . If you couldn’t tell, I am a fan of a lot of couples lol

What do you think is the most time consuming (taking photos, typing up posts, coming up with captions, reading ARCs etc.) thing in the book community? Why?

Honestly I think it’s a tie between taking pictures and reading ARCs. Because I usually take my photos in bulk, I can spend between an hour to two hours taking photos. And I’m really particular about lighting and placement and props. I’m also my worst critic, so thats an added bonus. On the other hand, I read ARCs more meticulously than I do books that I’ve purchased on my own. I’ll often highlight, tab, and underline passages, phrases, quotes etc. And a lot of the time, I’ll pause to write notes in my phone which also takes up a significant amount of time. Therefore, a book that I could probably finish in 2 days might take me 3 because of all of the pauses.

And finally, Who are your 3 auto-buy authors? List a favorite book from each.

  • Sarah J Maas – It’s a tie between Heir of Fire and A Court of Mist and Fury
  • Jasmine Guillory – The Wedding Date .
  • Christina Lauren – Beautiful Secret

And there you have it! I hope you enjoyed getting to know me! I had a lot of fun creating this segment and can’t wait to get to know more of the beautiful people that make up this community!
