What are your thoughts on the process of receiving ARCs/E-ARCs?
I’ve been in the indie publishing world as a blogger now for almost 4 years. I’ve been getting ARC’s from author friends even longer than that. I think the process is helpful to the authors in many ways, and I love being a part of it. I love sharing my thoughts, recommending books, and supporting authors. I haven’t dealt much with ARC’s from traditional publishing routes for very long, but from what I can tell the process isn’t much different, except most of the time you are dealing with a publisher and not an author direct or a PR company. I think the process itself is pretty straightforward and stream-lined.
What is the last book you gave a 5-star rating to?
The last book I gave a 5 star rating to was Letters to Molly by Devney Perry. This is a contemporary romance novel that released June 18th. I had the pleasure of getting an ARC and reading it early. This is a follow up to The Birthday List by the same author. It’s a beautiful second chance at marriage, and an extreme emotional read. It brought me to tears more than once.
What are your top 3 bookish fandoms?
My top bookish fandoms would be: Harry Potter, Mortal Instruments, Twilight, Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, Outlander, & ACOTAR. Sorry, I can’t name just three… and there are SOOO many more.
Interviewer Interruption: I completely understand lol Bookish fandoms are amazing!!
And finally, what’s your favorite childhood book?
This is hard – as a small child, I loved Amelia Bedelia, Berenstain Bears, and Clifford the Big Red Dog. As I was able to read by myself, I was more into Babysitters Club and Nancy Drew. My favorite classic is Little Women.
