Top 3 Books of the Second Quarter for 2020!

Hey there Bookwyrms! With the end of the third quarter fast approaching, I realized I haven’t yet shared my top three books of the second quarter yet! So without further ado, let’s jump right in!

The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

I feel like I haven’t stopped talking about this book since reading the ARC for it back in April. And for good reason! The Gilded Ones follows a dynamic group of girls trying to find their place in a world that despises their existence. It’s action-packed, humorous and has one of the best found family tropes I’ve read, so far this year. The story is also a reminder of the strength of sisterhood and overcoming discrimination and hatred! I cannot wait for this book to hit shelves in February 2021 so pre-order, pre-order, pre-order!!

All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M Johnson

Another book, I’ve raved and recommended numerous times! This Young Adult Memoir-Manifesto, is guaranteed to be on my top 10 books for the year. George M Johnson brings us along on their life journey and understanding their sexuality! This memoir is filled with life lessons, a lot of hurt, and the importance of love in all its shapes and forms. I learned so much about George and about myself as well. Specifically, what it means to be a true ally of the LGBTQ+ community!

The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochan

Last but most certainly not least, we have one of my new favorite romances! Before I say anything else, I want to make a formal announcement that Daniel Collins has been formally added to my extensive list of book boyfriends lol This hilarious rom-com follows three women Samiah Brooks, London and Taylor who unfortunately find out they’re all dating the same man, on Twitter of all places. (PIG!) No it wasn’t Daniel! Daniel is the new hire at the tech firm where Samiah works. And let’s just say, sparks fly. This is another gorgeous book about the bonds of sisterhood, as well as a slow burn romance that is sure to leave you wanting more! I highly recommend checking this one out, if you haven’t already!

And there you have it! My top three books for April, May and June! What are some of your favorite books for these months? Let me know in the comments down below!
